a puppy and a kitten ❤️

I am overjoyed to announce that we have adopted a PUPPY! And a KITTEN!

Please indulge me whilst I gush over my new pets.

There were so many reasons why I did not want animals. So many.

But in the end, I was out-voted and thank goodness I was!

First we got our pup, “Shadow.”
He’s a Kelpie/ Husky/ wolfhound/ Alsatian mix. Essentially a gorgeous mutt. Twelve weeks old. He has huge ears. He can leap HIGH and run… FAST! and he is oh so sweet, and soft and floppy.

Shadow was scared of everything when he arrived, except the kids, he adored the kids immediately. He hid under the table in the shadows for three days and he was too scared to meet people or go for a walk.

And now a few weeks later, he has come right out of his shell. 🥰

Then we found “Smudge.”

He is a little rescue kitten and a tiny tough guy.

Always purring and looking for cuddles… unless he is attacking you.

Here he is in my studio, where he has claimed my favourite cardigan and a spot on my desk.

For three weeks the dog has been trying to play with the cat. Things get knocked over. The cat gets all spitty. The dog gets put outside. It’s all very HECTIC.

But today…today we had a milestone!
We had this moment… 🥰💕

The two of them have filled our hearts completely. They bring such joy to our home. And playfulness and love. We adore them.
